Press release

The Musée des maîtres et artisans du Québec and the Département d’arts visuels et d’histoire de l’art of the Cégep de Saint-Laurent are partnering once again this year to present the works of students and teachers at the Cégep de Saint-Laurent. The exhibition will be on display in the museum from Thursday, October 25 to Sunday, November 18, 2018 inclusive.

Each year, as part of the Cégep de Saint-Laurent’s Open House, the museum exhibits the works of students in the visual arts program to highlight their effervescent creativity. This year will be a special one as the teachers will also be part of the exhibition. The event will illustrate the diversity of practices taught in the visual arts program as well as the importance given to research-creation in a department that reflects what the arts are today: innovative.

The exhibition will present in the central room works created by students from the previous and current sessions. It will also present works from the professional artistic approach of nine teachers and the department’s technician: Steffie Bélanger, Simon Bertrand, Anite de Carvalho, Nathalie Cloutier, Marie Dauverné, Chantal Durand, Martine Galarneau, Joëlle Morosoli and Myriam Tousignant.

The tour of the museum and this exhibition will be included in the guided tour of the Cégep’s Open House on Saturday, November 3.
