What could be better than coming to the Museum to play, create and learn during the spring break? This year the Museum gives way to children and offers you different and fun activities every day. Let yourself be carried away by tales, legends, puppets, games, dancing and crafts. Our guest craftsmen for the occasion will introduce you to the rich and unique world of craftsmanship and its history. Our animations are specially designed for relaxation.

From Monday, March 4 to Friday, March 8, the Museum is open from 9 am to 5 pm.

Weekends, Saturday 2, Sunday 3, Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 March,
the Museum is open from noon to 5 pm.

All children must be accompanied by an adult during the activities.

For some activities, it is mandatory to reserve your place. It is therefore important to arrive 5 minutes before the start of the activities or risk losing your priority.

From 10 am to 11:30 am

Visit and creative workshop: We tell the story of sheep’s wool!

Discover the work of wool through the exploration of the Museum and its collections. How was wool processed? How was it dyed? Where did the sash come from? A visit of the Museum is proposed to you. We will focus especially on the textile collections and learn the art of working with wool. This visit will be followed by a crafts where each child will be able to make a little sheep to take home.

Visit and creative workshop: The fairies of the yarn

Experience the adventure of wool with Evelaine the shepherdess. Tales, nursery rhymes and songs to have fun and discover the phases of wool processing, from fleece to fabric. This will be followed by a workshop where children can make felt balls, a bracelet, a necklace or a multicoloured bookmark!

Animation and workshop of puppet creation: The magic of puppets!

For the greatest pleasure of children and adults alike, come and watch a small puppet show. You will then have the chance to learn a little more about the puppeteer’s work. A family workshop will follow the animation where families can make their own puppets!

Muliats tells the story of an Innu from Mashteuiatsh, Shaniss, who decides to leave his reserve and settle in an urban area. There he met Christophe, a young immigrant and Montrealer of Montreal origin, who became his roommate. The play explores the most current themes of the reality of the First Nations of Quebec.

Tales and legends of all times have left their mark on the popular imagination. Get ready to be carried away by the gallery hunter, fun guaranteed! You will even have the chance to make a little book where you can write and draw your own story! A reading area will be provided. You will find many tales and legends from Quebec and elsewhere.

Urban dance at the Museum!

Hosted by professional dancers from the Prima Danse dance school, the Museum offers a dance workshop designed for young people. They will be inspired by a Museum object to create their choreography.
