OEUVRES DE FEMMES MONOPARENTALES

Exhibit of works from ten single mothers. In link with a creation workshop of 16 weeks financed by the borough of Saint-Laurent for the second year.

LA FAMILLE GERVAIS, REFLET D'UNE ÉPOQUE

Exhibit organised around a baptism kit donated to the museum by Ms. Gervais. This kit has been used during the baptism of the 13 childrend and a few of the grand childre. The Gervais family is part of the "dos blancs" (farming) families of Saint-Laurent.

Gervais family financed the publication of a small leaflet about the family.

L'ENVERS

Exhibit of 103 works of more than 30 artist of the Le Levant group whose members are mainly from the Montreal's arabic community.

Poesy reading (in arabic and french) and a conference.
A small catalogue was published by the group.

LE GRAND MAÎTRE SERGEÏ PARADJANOV

Exhibit created in colaboration with the Association des femmes Arméniennes du Canada, and the Paradjanov Museum of Erevan (Armenia). Showing works of the great master plastisian and filmmaker Sergeï Paradjanov (1924-1990).

For the first time in North America, 50 original works, from the Paradjanov museum, were exhibited at the museum.

Opening on October 28th with the Armenian ambassador as guest of honor.
A smal catalogue was published.
We also presented, three movies of Paradjanov in the cinéclub.

PEINDRE AU MUSÉE

Exhibit of works by the drawing class students of Raynald Murphy. This class is given at the museum.

DE LA LÉGITIMITÉ DES MÉDIUMS TRADITIONNELS

Project of young artists:

The exhibit put forward the works of artists of less than 30 years of age and for the most part unknown in the world of art. These works were based on four areas judged to be traditionnal in comparaison with all the new artistic possibilities of our era. Works of the following artist were shown: Myriam Bois, Simon dutil-Paquette, Valérie Héroux, Noée Joanisse, David Lafrance, Alexis Lavoie, Marie-Line Leblanc, Annie Murphy, Véronique Tifo, Vincent Tourigny, Catherine Turgeon, Geneviève White, Marilyne Bisaillon and Michael A.S. Michniewicz.

This exhibit joined two artists from here with to new arriving immigrant artists. In collaboration with the Centre d'aide et de références (CARI) de Saint-Laurent. Works from Vasil Nikov, Petrit Saphui, Ivan Leal and Marianna Semino.
